Il simbolismo etereo e oscuro di Michaela Knizova

Michaela Knizova ( Hnúšťa, Slovacchia, 1982) inizia la sua carriera artistica come pittrice per poi dedicarsi alla fotografia (affiancandovi video e performance) sotto lo pseudonimo Nynewe. “Gardener, nihilist, artist, photographer, chicken lady.  Collecting fragments from different times and different planets.  Sometimes a set photographer” Così ama definirsi sui vari social, una visione molto diversa da ciò che si pensa guardando (e ammirando) le sue foto. Nynewe usa principalmente il suo corpo e autoritratti per esprimersi. Un’arte, la sua, che intreccia storie personali con una oscura  femminilità paranormale, piena di simbolismi attinti dalle fiabe classiche e dai miti popolari, reinterpretando alcuni archetipi mediante la sua visione. I am working with contemporary myths (pop culture, comix, horror movies), urban myths… romanticizing things. I let my body become part of the places I use and melt them together with classic themes like saints but also elements of pop culture like horror movies.
